Gloria is a dwarf. Dwarves have been known to be grouchy. In truth, they lack patience but have a heart of gold under all that gruff. Traditionally they prefer to inhabit the safety of the earth. Coming up to live on the surface, even in a beautiful new neighborhood of allies, was a bit daunting. So Gloria focused on planting a garden to support her potions hobby and carved out a small compact alchemy lab that felt more like home. She created a modest home that suited her needs perfectly; a bed, some books, food and a hot tub! All was well. Then Faun showed up. Faun is the reincarnation of a wee halfling druid from the realm of Everquest. (She always wanted to be taller!) As we all know, Dwarves have a very ancient and close alliance with the Elves. However, simple living is definitely not their thing. Remodeling commenced immediately. Please understand, Faun is a Night Elf who aspired to be a High Elf in her previous life. Therefore, her space includes a very high space, plus a cozy reading garden, and an inscription alcove. She is a work in progress looking for her true identity. All was moving along smoothly and then Jenji arrived... Night Elves are friends and allies. Blood Elves are another thing entirely. They hang out with Trolls and Orcs. Scary, right? Since she was kinda family, Gloria and Faun couldn't just boot her to the curb. So they gave her a bed roll and pointed her to a spot outside under the stairs. Obviously, this did not sit well with Jenji, who is after all, the senior member of this strange family. After giving it some thought, she approached Gloria with an offer she was pretty sure could not be refused. You see, Jenji is an accomplished fisher-elf and a master chef. Given dwarves are very fond of eating a deal was struck. Jenji would cook glorious meals for the household and Gloria would allocate the attic swamp for her to make into her new home. In addition, Jenji would ensure the new night food court was staffed with the very best vendors so that friends and family could feast whenever. Northshire Plot #7 is now a (mostly) peaceful home!
Spaces
After dinner a relaxing snooze by the pond in the cozy pod. Only the quickest gets to claim the pond pod nap!
Fish from the stream and veggies from the greenhouse are cooked up into a feast for all!
We chat, nibble at dessert and contemplate the waterfall after a sumptuous meal.
This is where we go to get away from it all! Coffee in the morning watching the sun rise is a favorite here. Mount up and fly high!
All that fighting leads to this creative outlet. Paint it all out. Maybe a little fire water for inspiration.
The entry courtyard is the community area where everyone gathers and guests are welcomed. It is bright and full of towering trees, two sitting areas; one with a giant aquarium, and the other with a roaring fire.
Jenji cooks and everyone else feasts!
Head up the steps and take the first right to the night food court. Gloria wanted delicious options for herself and her friends. There is something to please every palate here and lovely ways to socialize and enjoy your choices!
Gloria has created the perfect bedroom, library, indoor garden completed by a secret passage to her favorite hobbies. Everything she loves is close by.
Here Gloria creates potions in her cozy cave alchemy lab. She's comfortable and happy surrounded by rock. The hot tub is a nice way to relax after all that healing.
There is nothing as nice as fresh herbs to make the best potions and Gloria's lovely garden is the place to grow and harvest them! Also a great get-away from those pesky elves.
Where else would a Night Elf who aspires to 'High' Elf put her bedroom? Up the stairs!
Happiness for Faun is being above it all!
Faun is learning. It's so complicated...
When Faun needs a break from trying to decipher those inscription instructions she retires to the pod for a glass of wine and a good steamy novel! Much better!
Seriously?!? A bedroll under the stairs, outside?!? Unacceptable.
Gloria gave in and allowed Jenji to move into the Attic Swamp. Who has an attic swamp? How does that even work?
Jenji puts on her coveralls and rubber boots and gets to work.
Stepping stones and enchanted boulders serve to elevate living areas. A social platform, tailoring platform, reading platform and sleeping platform float above the water now. There is a kitchen platform and a place to sit by the fire when the dampness gets to be too much.
Home soggy home, but it beats sleeping under the stairs, right?
